Acute Allergic Reaction of Tongue, Floor of Mouth and Pharynx

 

 

 

 

 

Acute tongue swelling developing over an hour causing dysphagia and difficulty in talking.  No stridor or breathing difficulty.  Neither sorethroat nor fever present.  The patient claimed to have suck a metholated sweets and soon felt distaste and he immediately discarded it.  He responded well to parenteral steroid and antihistamine.
